U.S. General In Syria Confirms US Forces Killed Hundreds Of Russians In A Battle Last Month's In Eastern Syria

The War Zone/The Drive: American General In Syria Confirms US Forces Killed Hundreds Of Russians In Massive Battle

US Army Brigadier General Jonathan Braga also said he was 'absolutely worried' the situation could have escalated in a bigger conflict.

A senior U.S. general appears to have confirmed that hundreds of Russians fought – and died – in a major battle against American forces and their local counterparts in Syria. More importantly, U.S. Army Brigadier General Jonathan Braga, director of operations for the main U.S. military task force in charge of operations in Iraq and Syria, said he feared the situation could have escalated into an all-out conflict with Russia, something we at The War Zone have warned repeatedly is becoming a worryingly realistic possibility.

Braga gave the surprisingly candid account of what had happened to NBC's Richard Engel, who traveled with the general to visit the exact site of the incident in Syria and to see what the U.S. military was doing to improve its defensive posture.

WNU Editor:  U.S. Army Brigadier General Jonathan Braga's concerns that this could have easily escalated into an all-out conflict with Russia are valid .... and what is worrisome is that tensions since the battle have now decreased at all.

Miscalculation.

The Syrians went for the oil assuming that the Kurds would retreat.

If the Syrians got the oil and the surrounding land, the Syrians would dictate to Kurds.

What is really galling is some people bleat about self-determination. Well the rubber is meeting the road here at Kurdistan and the bleaters have high tailed it into the hills bleating all the way.

To be sure the bleater shave castigated, killed and done other things for self determination, but there will be a big bill to pay and now all the sudden they want none of it.

This story is far to be finished. Assad cannot accept to have part of his country under Kurd power and Russia cannot let the feeling of America superiority in the middle east. This will bring them to a "revenge". It will be very bloody.

" It will be very bloody. "

Probably. We get threatened so often that why not enjoy the suck.

I feel the need point out that people talked about self determination after WW1 & WW2 when they drew borders and still do now to an extent.

Funny how when it comes to the Kurds they do not want to extend the slightest bit of help.

Cowardly.
